Vanessa VanCleef is a character from the World of Warcraft universe. She first appeared in the original iteration of the Deadmines dungeon, which has been updated in subsequent game expansions.
Vanessa is the daughter of Edwin VanCleef, the original leader of the Defias Brotherhood. After her father's death, she inherited his legacy and rebuilt the organization. She is cunning and ruthless, driven by a desire for revenge against Stormwind for the perceived injustices done to her father and the stonemasons who built the city.
She reappears as the final boss of the updated Deadmines dungeon in the Cataclysm expansion, piloting a massive mechanical monstrosity. Ultimately, she is defeated, but her death does not completely end the Defias threat.
